PR & Communications Manager
Nordic & Baltic region, location Kista

In this key role you will be responsible for PR and media relations as well as social media communications, both in terms of strategy and implementation. The role requires a commercial mindset and good understanding of what drives the brand and sales of consumer products. You will in a proactive and creative way drive PR and social media projects that create awareness and interest in our products.

The role is really about”living the brand” where the creative PR-thinking goes beyond the product information, with the ability to commercially think and drive PR. It requires a good understanding of what drives the brand and sales of the products. The role spans from setting the strategic outline to tactical implementation and it is crucial to be able to make the right priorities of activities within the scope of resources and time. The opportunities are huge, and require you to constantly make the right priorities.

Current PR and Communications Manager will take on a global PR- role within Sony Ericsson (with location in UK) hence this role is a replacement. The role is a full time employment with start as soon as possible.
The PR and Communication Manager reports to the Head of Marketing located in Kista

You have 3-5 years experience of consumer marketing and media relations with experience from a PR agency and/or the client side. A strong interest in popular culture, trends and generally being up to date and having a hunger for information is key. Having executed successful social/digital media projects is a very strong merit.

You are used to managing external media and agency relations, press briefings and crisis communications and you have a good and solid judgment and the ability to make the right priorities.

Responsibility and requirements in detail

PR
• Handle media, both in terms of strategy and implementation.
• Drive proactive and creative PR projects and that create awareness and interest of Sony Ericsson products (e.g. pre- launch campaigns).
• Organize and host local press conferences.
• Manage the local/Nordic PR agencies in coordination with the global lead PR Agency (in UK)
• Handle crises communication along with global guidelines.
• Handle press/journalists - prioritizing and coordinating for example interviews with Sony Ericsson´s management. The role also involves some investor relations subjects with Ericsson.

Social Media
• Constantly develop Sony Ericsson´s ways of engaging with target group through social media. Identify and develop ways of driving continuous dialogue besides and beyond product launch campaigns.
• Handle lead agency for digital and social media activities.
• Setting the strategic guidelines for the Nordic markets, as well as developing concepts and implementing tactical initiatives that drives increased engagement with our target group.
• Key participant in planning and implementing the Nordic launch campaigns by integrating social media initiatives as part of the media mix.

Profile requirements
• 3-5 years experience of consumer marketing and media relations. Preferably with experience from PR agency as well as from the client side.
• Experienced in managing external agencies and planning/handling budget responsibility.
• A portfolio of creative PR initiatives that has proved to drive sales.
• Experience from handling press conferences.
• Skilled in crisis communications and hands- on coordination.
• Great sense of effective marketing communications.
• Proven track record of handling social media projects and driving tangible buzz.
• Experience from working with technically advanced consumer products is a merit.

• Good and solid judgment is a critical key to success.
• Must have great creative energy and ability to generate ideas.
• Able to handle a heavy workload under relatively long periods of time with information flows in many different directions.
• Being able to make tough priorities and say no to many good initiatives.
• Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
